I've been an educator for over 30 years. Prior to joining CVA in 2012, I worked nationwide as a consultant both online and bricks & mortar programs. CVA's hybrid program is a perfect fit for me! For fun, I love scuba diving for the the experience of neutral buoyancy and photographing the amazing creatures. I enjoy word games, try to keep in shape, and watch movies, old and new. I have two kids, now both in college in New York.

Teaching at CVA is pretty much my favorite thing ever.  The students are rock stars.  My friends and family will tell you that I frequently make Facebook posts like “Is there anything better than a unit on WWI? #iloveteaching”.  I attended school for history and art at Loyola University in New Orleans and the U of M in Minneapolis with a semester abroad in London before getting my Masters in Social Studies Ed at the U.  In my spare time I like to travel, run, cook, write, play with my cat, bike, spend time with friends, travel, read about history, watch Star Trek, take selfies, drink coffee, and travel.  I got back from my amazing annual 2.5 weeks at a volunteer summer camp in Kenya right before school started – you can see me here hanging out of a bus at Kenya’s Lake Naivasha with some of our awesome campers.  This year I’m super stoked to teach about a grillion academic/FUN social studies classes to some totally wonderful high schoolers!

I’m also fairly obsessed with the sport of soccer and I spend a lot of my free time watching, playing, and coaching “the beautiful game”. Although my background is mainly in physics, this year I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to teach a couple of other interesting STEM subjects as well.
