Executive Director/Principal

Position Summary:

Cyber Village Academy is seeking a passionate Director/Principal who has dynamic approaches and visionary objectives.


Mission Statement:

Cyber Village Academy prepares students to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world with confidence by helping them to become inquiring, knowledgeable, caring and active citizens who value academic rigor, integrity, self-reliance and compassion.


Background:

Cyber Village Academy (CVA) is a well established K-12 public charter school in St. Paul, MN that offers two learning pathways.

  • The Fusion Program serves grades K-12 using a unique approach of three days on-campus learning and two days online learning.

  • The PASCAL (Program for Accelerated Studies using Computer Assisted Learning) program serves grades 6-12 with a 100% online program supported by CVA teachers.


Objectives:

Strategic Vision and Planning:

  • In partnership with the board of directors, the executive director will develop and execute a strategic plan to set the stage for both short- and long-term growth. The executive director will work to increase enrollment by developing and implementing a marketing plan to recruit and retain students in both the Fusion and PASCAL programs.  

Team Building:

  • The executive director will be responsible for creating the team necessary to carry out the vision and mission of the organization and to provide ongoing operations and instructional support to the established schools. The executive director will be in attendance at school events. The executive director will carry out recruiting that attracts and selects talented teachers and staff.

Advancement

  • The executive director will further advance the mission of the organization by identifying and securing new sources of funding from foundations, corporations, and individual donors, and by forming strategic partnerships. The executive director will continue the advancement of essential new technologies.

Governance

  • The executive director will work with the board to carry out the decisions and policies of the board. The executive director will need to have knowledge of charter school and nonprofit law.

External Relations

  • The executive director will serve as the chief spokesperson for the organization, ensuring proper representation of the organization to the local civic, business and political community; and other external constituents, including parents and families.

Financial Management

  • The executive director will oversee the financial systems of the organization, including the development of the annual budget.

School Support

  • The executive director will provide support to the instructional team as needed in the areas of staff management and evaluation, hiring, HR issues and other tasks that are necessary to ensure that the mission of the organization is fulfilled. The executive director will enforce school policies and procedures including discipline.

Instructional Leadership

  • The executive director will support the instructional leadership necessary to produce strong student outcomes. The executive director will lead staff meetings. The executive director will need to have knowledge of online learning.


Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or higher in education

  • K-12 principal or superintendent license preferred

  • Experience in school and financial management, charter school experience preferred

  • Experience in program growth and development

  • Experience in online education and instructional technology

  • High degree of integrity and professionalism

  • Excellent attention to detail, deadlines and legal requirements

  • Able to manage multiple tasks and relationships

  • Ability to work with people of all ages and backgrounds

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Salary is negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience.

Paraprofessionals

Paraprofessional (Special Education)
 
Full-time, school-year position available.

Start date: ASAP.

Job responsibilities
  • Work directly with students in classrooms and in small settings to provide academic support to students.
  • Take direction from and work with teachers to support classroom activities for the whole class or for particular students.
  • Review and implement accommodations for specific students as outlined in the student's IEP.
  • Complete written work as directed by supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job qualifications
  • Excellent ability to build rapport and positive working relationships with students and teachers
  • Patience and calmness with students of all abilities and personalities
  • Competent technology and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree, or otherwise meets requirements of a "highly qualified paraprofessional."
Reports to: Special Education Director
Pay: $16/hour plus benefits
Full-time schedule: 8 am - 4 pm Monday thru Friday
Full-time calendar: Academic calendar: all staff days

Special Education Teacher

Cyber Village Academy has an opening for a full time Special Education teacher. The ideal candidate is licensed in EBD or ASD, is familiar with a variety of face-to-face and online instructional techniques, and is interested in a flexible, small school environment working with a close team of teachers, paraprofessionals and service providers.
