Hunger Impact Partners and Minnesota Department of Education have sent this information regarding the
free summer-meals program for children called “ Summer Eats Minnesota .” All Minnesota children up to
the age of 18 are eligible to participate in this program which provides free breakfast, snack, lunch and
supper at designated sites. Just locate the nearest site, show up at the right time and eat! No registration
or prior sign-up is necessary . There are free serving sites across the state at schools, parks, recreation centers, community centers and libraries.
It is important to know summer meal sites are being added weekly and times and days of operation do change so check the mobile app regularly to get the most up-to-date information .
There is a helpful website : www.summereatsmn.org which has additional information on hours, locations, menus, contact information etc.—with versions in Spanish, Somali and Hmong. All can be downloaded and printed or circulated electronically. Printed materials are available from MDE by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org. There is also a downloadable app: Simply search Summer Eats Minnesota and download the free app via the Apple Store or Google Play Store on your smart phone.
